"Yoga is cessation of fluctuations of the mind" says Patanjali at the beginning of the yoga sutras. Yoga means union or harmony and when your mind is at peace you can live in harmony with yourself, other people and nature.
Open your body, open your heart, open your mind and completely relax. In this retreat we will explore small and subtle movements, free flowing, dynamic, powerful, playful and wild movements. We will touch some of the many dimensions of Okido yoga: purification practice, strengthening, corrective and harmonizing asana practice, as well as breathing and meditation.
The aim of the physical practice is to be able to meet all daily life situations with appropriate poise, power and grace. It is not a yoga just for the yoga mat or the mountain top. It is a yoga of searching for the truth of how you can create the best alignment with the present moment.
Okido Yoga is the teaching of Japanese Master Masahiro Oki. It’s a dynamic and varied style of yoga that draws on many oriental sources, such as martial arts, Zen, shiatsu and macrobiotics as well as Indian Yoga, with the aim of healing on individual, social and environmental levels Within it, everyone from beginner to advanced can take each exercise to the right point for their condition and ability.
